Historical Folklore Application
Used for thousands of years by Aboriginal people, this oil has long been thought to be a great antiseptic, antibacterial, antifungal. The Journal of Hospital Infections found tea tree oil as a body wash to kill methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus better than commercially available products (see JHI Vol 46, Issue III, pgs. 236-237- 11/00.) Mild enough to be applied directly to the skin for insect bites, pimples, scrapes and abrasions.
