Kakui Nut Oil

Aleurites moluccanus or Kukui nut oil is derived from the state tree of Hawaii, the Kukui, also known as a candlenut tree. It is harvested and the oil is collected by expeller pressing the large nuts rendering a light green colored oil of medium viscosity. Native Hawaiians have used Kukui nut oil in religious ceremonies, medicine and traditional crafts for centuries. Modernly this oil has come to the attention of western medicine for its unique range of benefits and powerful antioxidants derived from its high level of natural poly and monounsaturated fats, linoleic and linolenic acids as well as vitamins C, D, E.
